The project aims to address the following problems in the region:
Insufficient cold storage capacity, Poor cold storage conditions, Cold storage is prohibitively expensive due to energy costs, Poor competitiveness conditions in pricing, High prices of processing and packaging for SMEs
The project involves establishment of dried apricot licensed warehouse (DALW) with attached common use processing and packaging facility with development of institutional capacity. In addition to DALW, an authorized classifier laboratory will also be founded. For financial sustainability, energy required for cold storage & processing will be supplied by solar energy generation facilities which will also be established within the scope of the project.
CATALYSADE, as a solution partner of GOPA, contributed to the project by developing an innovative Business Model integrating all of the facilities in a sustainable way with maximum efficiency. Study on the governance model, problem-solution-market fit, market analysis, competition dynamics, revenue model, operational plan & service model, human resources plan, marketing and commercialisation plan, financial plan and investment model were the sub-parts of the tasks CATALYSADE was responsible for.
